Page view counter in PHP

We will use programming in this lesson to attempt to solve the "Page view counter in PHP".

We can get the page view count in PHP using session. The session can be used to store page views that increment on each refresh and show the count on a webpage. A session is user-specific and for every user, a separate session is created.
  • Page view counter with session in PHP

    <?php
    if(isset($_SESSION['views_count']))
        $_SESSION['views_count'] = $_SESSION['views_count']+1;
    else
        $_SESSION['views_count']=1;

    echo"views = ".$_SESSION['views_count'];
    ?>

    We can create a session variable in PHP to store page views. On each visit or refresh page, it increases the session variable with value 1. This is how we can get the number of times a page is visited by a user.
